Christmas Day ride 2004

There were only a few of us, but it was fun. We played Frisbee in  an eerily empty parking lot at River Park and rode down an almost car-free Blackstone Avenue. Beautiful weather and just a trickle of automobiles made this annual Christmas day ride both fun and meaningful. photos

Winterfest 2004

The kind folks at the Santa Fe Basque allowed FCBC to celebrate in style on their swanky heated patio. The evening was filled with prizes, food, and fellowship. Some of the highlights of the night were discussions of the past accomplishments of FCBC and future plans to nurture the creation of a more vibrant bike culture in Fresno photos

Bike to Work Week 2004

In what could only be characterized as a success, the FCBC facilitated “bike to work week" that was highlighted with event that garnered widespread media coverage . FCBC organized the event as part of a larger, nationwide, bicycle awareness campaign. City and County officials, along with an impressive array of  bicycle Police escorts, rode down Blackstone Avenue from Manchester Mall to Kern Street Cafe. This public awareness campaign was perhaps the largest and most successful FCBC event to date. photos

Earth Day 2004

FCBC was proud to support Fresno's celebration of Earth Day. Our booth was equipped with an authentic pedicab from China and FCBC volunteers took turns giving rides to guests. FCBC also provided free bike parking to all attendees. In addition, volunteers answered questions, handed out literature and signed up new members. Photos coming soon.
