May is Still Bike Month Challenge Winner Drawing and Virtual Bike Mixer

The Bike Month events you know and love may have been cancelled, but we have a plan.

Discounts for Bicyclists Downtown and #SupportDowntownFresno Drawing!

If you need some destination inspiration, the Downtown Fresno Partnership and four downtown Fresno restaurants are offering a Bike Month discount (valid May 1 to May 14) to patrons who arrive by bike.

And bicyclists who shop downtown and post about their purchase on Facebook using the Downtown Fresno Partnership hashtag #SupportDowntownFresno will be entered into a drawing for five $20 downtown business gift cards! 

Bike To Eats Drawing

Ride your bike to any restaurant (or local small business) offering safe, social-distanced (masks encouraged) curb-side pickup and contact-less payment between the dates of May 1st and May 14th. Post a photo to Facebook*, and tag our FCBC page by adding "@fresnobike" to your caption. We recommend you call ahead to make sure your restaurant offers curb-side pickup outside the restaurant. • First prize is a $100 gift card to the local Fresno County bike shop of your choice (assuming they sell gift cards).
• Second prize is a $50 gift card.
• Two third prizes of $25 each.

Bike Month Virtual Mixer and Prize Drawing

We will be drawing the winners for all the prizes (both #SupportDowntownFresno and @fresnobike) live on Zoom! Join us for a Virtual Bike Mixer on Zoom (link to be distributed) where we will talk about the FCBC's plans for the rest of the year, socialize, and watch the winners be selected from all the entries! Join us and raise a glass of your favorite beverage to good cheer and bicycle rides to come.

Why are we doing this? This Bike Month is different than any Bike Month before. We are all reacting to the challenges posed by COVID-19 and the measures in place to flatten the curve. Don't gather in large groups! Stay home except for essential trips! Wash your hands! And support local businesses who need us now more than ever. Consider buying a gift card from your favorite business if you'renot up to riding. We believe that bicycle riding (responsibly, by yourself or with members of your household) is an excellent way to get around, get needed exercise, and get the mental boost we need in this unprecedented situation.

* For the Bike to Eats drawing, alternatively take a photo of your ride demonstrating safe social-distancing (wear a mask if you have one) on a "ride to anywhere" on May 14th. Post your photo to Facebook, mentioning our @FresnoBike page. We'll enter all public mentions that we can find at 5 PM on May 14th into a drawing. If you don't have a Facebook account, email the photo and a caption to info@fresnobike.org and we will post your photo on our web site.
